Jesus prophesied the death and resurrection of the cross three times
Jesus has already prophesied about his death and resurrection three times.
As for the first prophecy, it occurred immediately after Jesus elicited from his disciples a confession of faith "the faith they have in him," and spoke of the church that would be built from them. Jesus announced to his disciples his impending suffering, death, and resurrection, and said, "Since they too will suffer the same fate in this world as Jesus suffered, they will be taught what kind of spirit and life they should live as disciples."
In Mark 8:31-33, “And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. And he spake that speaking openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men. Jesus scolded him for thinking about people's things and not his own things.
Regarding the second prediction, Jesus informs his disciples that he will be handed over to people to be killed and that he will be raised on the third day. This announcement was made when the disciples were gathered together again in Galilee. Six days after the first announcement of Jesus' passion and resurrection in Caesarea Philippi, Jesus and his disciples in Galilee were on the Mount of Transfiguration. It refers to the time when he went to the mountain called , returned to Galilee, and stayed there to minister.
In Mark 9:31-35, “For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. And he sat down, and called the twelve, and said unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.』The spiritual state of the disciples was a situation where they were "arguing about who is greater." So Jesus compared them to children and said,
Mark 9:37 『Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.』"Such children" refers to Jesus' twelve disciples. do. They are spiritually children now, but in the future people will receive you, Jesus said, and it will be like receiving me. Meanwhile, Jesus continues the parable of the child to his disciples. This shows how great the role and expectations Jesus placed on his disciples, who were like spiritual children.
The third prediction was made somewhere before reaching Jericho on the way to Jerusalem after completing the ministry in the Judean region (eastern side of the Jordan River) across the Jordan River. In Mark 10:33-37, it says, “Saying, Behold, we go.” up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: And they shall mock him, and shall scour him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again. And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire. And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.” After Jesus came to the world as the Messiah and defeated Rome with power, the disciples This is a request to Jesus for a position of power.
Jesus spoke to his disciples three times about his death on the cross and resurrection, and they asked him to “consider the things of men, who is greater, and sit at the right and left hands of the Lord.” In Mark 10:38-40, Jesus said, “But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? And they said to him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; But it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.』Jesus spoke of the cup he would drink (symbolizing the blood shed through death on the cross). The disciples, who do not even know what it means, say that they can drink it.
Sam signifies the fulfillment of the covenant. With the fulfillment of the old covenant, the new covenant begins. The new covenant is to die in unity with Jesus on the cross and to be resurrected in unity with Christ. For those who believe in present death and present resurrection, the new covenant will be fulfilled, and as promised in the covenant, the old temple will be destroyed in their hearts and a new temple will be built. When the new temple is built, Christ will return and enter the hearts of the saints. So the saints bear fruit, and the saints will continue to spread the seeds of fruit.
